Trumping A Conservative Party

If Trump wins the nomination, prepare for the end of the conservative party - The Washington Post:

When one steps back and looks at the bigger historical picture, certain crisis and cleavages at least appeal to trying to make sense of things. Perspective will always vary, and history is never tidy, so caution is required.

In the linked column, George Will channels his (in my opinion justified), disdain for Trump into a potential ending of the current Republican party. It is worth reading, but in general I do not agree with all that much of it.

His short history includes Teddy Roosevelt's attempt to convert the Republican party from a somewhat conservative party into a "progressive" party, failing, running under the "Bull Moose Party" banner and giving us Woodrow Wilson as a result. Wilson was the most "progressive" anti-Constitutional president up until BO. A little background on that debacle is covered in "Liberal Fascism" . The idea of a "conservative party" was preserved in Will's mind, but it was far from pure.

Will then considers the Goldwater run the point at which the Republican Party became a "true conservative party". I disagree ... we elected Nixon twice. Nixon took us off the gold standard, founded the EPA, agreed with Keynesian spending, put in wage and price control, and went to China -- none of which are in any way "conservative".

Reagan TALKED about being conservative, but given the entrenched D congress he had to deal with, he settled for ending the USSR and lived with huge deficits and a giant FICA tax increase! HW Bush raised taxes ... nuff said. W Bush created a vast new medicare drug program.

Reagan DID slow the GROWTH of government spending, but Newt and the '94 congress were the only truly "conservative influence" that the R's have managed to muster in a LONG time ... and it requires some twiddling on what one means by "republican".

The Republican party of Lincoln was ANYTHING but "conservative"! It wielded vast centralized government power and FORCE in order to edict it's will upon the South. While my review of the book "The Conservative Mind" doesn't go into much on that aspect, the book does in it's discussion of the effects of the Civil War on the conservative principle of states rights.

We really have to go back to Jefferson and Madison to find a "smaller government" party, that interestingly enough was called "The Democratic Republican Party" -- for it wanted small government AND more democracy, while the Federalists (Washington, Hamilton, Adams, ...) wanted more government and more centralized government.

A major source of our problems is our loss of understanding of the human condition, and the ultimate conservative position of "transcendence" -- ultimately correct values over "what looks/feels good today" which comes from "man being the measure of all things". This is possibly best and most succinctly covered in "The Ethics of Rhetoric".

So in summary, I disagree with Will that we have REALLY had a "conservative party as a constant presence", but I agree that Trump is a clear marker post on the fall of man and the specific fall of what was America. While not "likely", I consider it "possible"  that Trump may win, and in fact, I'd claim it hard to really explain "who is worse"? Yes, both are exceedingly bad, but it is more a question of "What do you hate worst" ... complete fecklessness, total incompetence, total disdain for vast swaths of the American public (R's) that you declare them "enemies" in the same class as ISIS (Hillary) ... or Trump, which the article and day to day media now castigate with justified regularity.

So, I think things are already a lot worse than Will seems to think for "conservatives" ... and given his thought that we have had a "consistent conservative presence" in the R party for a long time, I question what he means by the term "conservative" ... (here is what I mean if you need a refresher).

His closing ...
"In 2016, a Trump nomination would not just mean another Democratic presidency. It would also mean the loss of what Taft and then Goldwater made possible — a conservative party as a constant presence in U.S. politics"

Hawaii Names Empty Chair for BO?

Hawaii can’t seem to name anything after native son Obama - The Washington Post:

"Like all of the previous Obama naming efforts, however, it has gone nowhere. This week, the first family returned to Hawaii for their eighth straight vacation here since Obama was elected president in 2008. "
What is the matter with Hawaii? Don't they have any prisons, sewer plants or refuse dumps? Perhaps they have a windmill, gasification plant  or an abandoned building somewhere? It sounds like they DID attempt to name a vacant lot after him -- that would have been appropriate.

Perhaps they could create a "Chair" at one of the universities, commonly done at places like Harvard, Oxford, etc  as in "The Lucasian Mathematics Chair" at Oxford, once held by Sir Isaac Newton, currently held by Stephen Hawking.

This could be the "BO Chair" and it would always be empty!

Strange that Kenya is having better success, but they have good reason! They can be thankful that BO was never THEIR leader!

Trump Already In Office !?

http://www.cnn.com/2015/12/24/politics/sanders-omalley-dhs-deportations/

I'm thinking that this article will go away soon, but I was floored when I saw a big picture of Trump out on CNN with the headline "Democrats Rip Deportation Plan".

Who is in office again? Who runs the DHS?

CNN and the Democrats can rail against a plan and BLAME TRUMP? Are they just mixed up? Perhaps they should blame W? It may be that he started such things before he left and BO has just been too busy golfing to do any direction changes?

Things that make one wonder what the heck goes through a lot of peoples minds, and the relation it might have to even an imagined reality! It certainly appears that the country is very much "read for Trump!".  TRUMP certainly believes that the actions of the DHS are because of HIM -- as he believes that EVERYTHING is because of **HIM**!!!

So does BO in fact ... just listen to him. It is beginning to look like BO may be analogous to an evil version of John the Baptist, only BO "prepareth the way" for Trump!

Blacks Killing Whites, TP Consistency

The Lie That Turned Moms Into ‘Murderers’ - The Daily Beast:

"Robert Barnes" will not get the kind of media attention that "Trayvon Martin", "Michael Brown", or even "Jamar Clark" (Jamar is the guy shot by police in N Minneapolis a month ago, for some reason there seems to be less focus on his name).

Robert Barnes was a homeless alcoholic. A 10 year old black boy decided to tell his mother that "Barnes had hit him" (he hadn't ), so the woman got two of her friends and some kids and went down and beat the guy to death with a broken leg from some furniture and a hammer.

Why not? Barnes was certainly a LOT less innocent than a 25 week gestation baby! The NY Times talks about the terrible restriction in woman's rights imposed by 26 states on 190 million people that don't allow such babies to be murdered. 9 wonderful states allow the murder of babies as long as they are still in the womb. What basis is it again that people with little ability are supposed to use as a way to measure things like the value of a life? The ladies didn't try to sell Barnes' body parts, so in some respects they actually were quite "moral" in modern cultural terms.

So we are a nation that has decided that some human lives do not matter at all. The State even uses our tax dollars to subsidize the murder of some, so their blood is on all our hands. If anyone in the US thinks they have no sins to confess before they take communion, they can reflect on that for a bit. How exactly DOES one make a distinction as to which lives matter and which do not?

So why doesn't Robert Barnes life matter? It may be because he appears white,  but I don't think that is the reason -- although we know TP is unconcerned about an epidemic of white deaths.

Like the lives of thousands of young black men who kill each other every year, Robert Barnes death simply DOES NOT FIT THE THE PARTY NARRATIVE. There is no easy way for The Party (TP-D) to gain political power by talking about this death, in the same way as the deaths of roughly 6K young black men who murder each other each year don't fit the narrative needed to in increase TP power.

To understand The Party, **ALL** that needs to be understood is their thirst for POWER. Once you realize that they are 100% dedicated to the amassing of political power to a centralized "elite" by ANY AND ALL MEANS, they are very easy to understand, and they in fact ARE consistent!

For TP, POWER = MEANING. It is ALL THERE IS!

Atheists Can't Exist

Eric Metaxas: Science Increasingly Makes the Case for God - WSJ:

Actually, based on current scientific knowledge, NONE of us can be here -- but that seems especially poignant for atheists.

I once knew of an atheist whose last name was "May", who proudly declared himself a "Maytheist" -- "their own god". God is infinite, but is human hubris really limited? I sometimes wonder if the sad and hard to understand requirement of Hell doesn't fall to the need to contain the infinite hubris of Satan and those who deny the spiritually obvious with infinite hubris. Humans (in the flesh) are finite beings -- but perhaps they are allowed infinite hubris if they choose it? Would that be the opposite of choosing the infinite love of Christ? (not that we CAN choose the love ... it is by GRACE, however, since we have free will, we can choose to reject the love)

Reading the whole linked article is well worth it. I've written on the basic topic before.  A revelation of  especially the last 30 years is that another wave of human intellectual hubris in regard to our origins has washed up on the beach of reality and is now receding, leaving the beach as it was before.

After Newton and Darwin, science was pretty sure that all it took was "a few basic elements and processes", and "billions and billions of years" for us to sit back with a Scotch and observe how random chance "easily" bootstrapped a universe for us relax and ponder as lords of all -- albeit with a fairly significant concern that there HAD to be MANY other life forms out there pondering similarly.  We fervently hoped (but not prayed if we were "smart") that they were equally smug, enjoying a crackling fire and adult beverage rather than dreaming of nasty things like universal conquest!

In the early '80s there were few atheists as smug as Carl Sagan, whose "Cosmos" was a very entertaining, but very snooty journey to the beginning of time and to the far reaches of the universe "explaining everything" so that "intelligent people" could dispense with ancient religions and superstitions. Sagan pretty much cried out for the "If he is so smart, how come he is dead?" question.

Sagan now has indeed returned to the much less haughty dust from which he came, and has been replaced by an at least equally smug new "little god that shits", named Neil Degrasse Tyson, who proves to us that dust comes in different shades (he is black). Here is a quote from Neil that fits well with the theme of this post:
Every account of a higher power that I've seen described, of all religions that I've seen, include many statements with regard to the benevolence of that power. When I look at the universe and all the ways the universe wants to kill us, I find it hard to reconcile that with statements of beneficence.
What a learned position for someone whose faith says that he can't exist! Back in 1966,  Time Magazine featured a "God is Dead" cover, and Sagan  proudly gave the odds for life on other worlds:
The same year Time featured the now-famous headline, the astronomer Carl Sagan announced that there were two important criteria for a planet to support life: The right kind of star, and a planet the right distance from that star. Given the roughly octillion—1 followed by 27 zeros—planets in the universe, there should have been about septillion—1 followed by 24 zeros—planets capable of supporting life.
So, given 50 years and a lot of research, how is our search for that highly likely life going? Hmmm ... well, the "odds" have changed just a bit:

What happened? As our knowledge of the universe increased, it became clear that there were far more factors necessary for life than Sagan supposed. His two parameters grew to 10 and then 20 and then 50, and so the number of potentially life-supporting planets decreased accordingly. The number dropped to a few thousand planets and kept on plummeting.
Where did the odds plummet to? Well, the number of parameters is at least at 200 now and you don't hear many hopeful predictions about life on other worlds. In fact, the odds against even US being here are astronomical ... I cover a few of them near the end of this old post. Just for our universe to exist, the "smart money" says you need something like 10400 UNIVERSES to get to one like ours ... something like double that for getting a planet suitable  for any life at all, let alone conscious life!

So we are faced with the paradox that a rational atheist has to conclude that according to the "intelligent odds", they simply don't exist. Odds ike that are the mathematical way of saying "NO"! In which case, how can they call themselves "rational"? Or as Fred Hoyle put it ...
Fred Hoyle, the astronomer who coined the term “big bang,” said that his atheism was “greatly shaken” at these developments. He later wrote that “a common-sense interpretation of the facts suggests that a super-intellect has monkeyed with the physics, as well as with chemistry and biology . . . . The numbers one calculates from the facts seem to me so overwhelming as to put this conclusion almost beyond question.”
Strange how God has arranged it so that none have an excuse but their own blind will to reject his existence and Grace!

I did take exception to one aspect of the article. Our existence is not the greatest miracle, but the 2nd greatest -- God himself caring enough to take human form and die for our sins is the greatest miracle!

Merry Christmas!

Too Smart For Republicans

The Simple Truth: President Obama is Too Intelligent for Republicans to Understand:

I moved my summary to the top, it got a little long. The bottom line here is that "progressives" and conservatives, libertarians, Christians, etc have increasingly different world views. Since the "progressive" view is ascendent in media, education, government and law, "progressives" simply dismiss views that don't agree with them as "stupid, ill informed, etc". There really is no "dialogue", because at least from the left, there is no reason that anyone has to pay any attention to other viewpoints -- all their positions are "settled".

I think this is summarized well by this quote from the linked article:
Which brings me to President Obama. While I’m not calling him a genius, I do think he’s extremely intelligent. I also believe that his tendency to use “big picture” thinking while drafting policy is something most Republican voters simply can’t understand.
The brilliance of "progressives" knows no bounds ... at least in their own minds. Here are the "reasons" they come to this "obvious" conclusion that they and BO are just "too smart for republicans".
Take “Obamacare” for instance. It’s not a “fix health care today” law. In fact, the law itself is made to grow and evolve over time. My belief is that it’s a springboard to true socialized medicine.
The magic of being a "progressive" is that since  you have complete dominance in the media, education and government bureaucracy, you KNOW that your positions are ALL "settled" -- they are simply factual, and anyone in disagreement must be "stupid", because certainly government controlled media both here and in other largely socialist nations have declared what "the truth" is adequately! Possibly in the near future, alternate sources of "false information" like "Faux News" can be removed, and the few people too stupid to agree with State positions can be "re-educated". In the "progressive" utopia, all will be educated to agreement!

I'm not going to argue the case for not everything including your healthcare being centrally controlled here, but I will make just a couple points. I do believe that BOcare is "working as designed" primarily has a way to transfer wealth and services from people that work or worked, to people that didn't or don't. Our healthcare costs have skyrocketed to the tune of many thousands a year -- higher charges, huge deductibles, AND we are putting $5K a year in an HSA account, "pre-spending" for the charges that we know we will have. Make no mistake, that money is a COST, but we have no choice. We KNOW it will be spent for health, as will MUCH MORE, because the current PRIMARY PURPOSE of BOcare is simply to transfer money from those that vote in a lower percentage for TP to those that vote in a higher percentage. It IS "working", and the "big picture" -- the move to socialism is EXACTLY why many Republicans oppose it!

The next topic that is all explained in the "big picture" is minimum wage.
Minimum wage is another issue you see this with. Republicans constantly paint it as a “job killer” (it’s not) while also rallying against the millions of people who are on government assistance.
In a world where the best way to create wealth is to have central planners direct the economy, the central planners can issue a directive to "businesses" that they WILL keep a certain number of people employed at a certain wage. Perhaps in that world you can repeal gravity and a few other things. In this world, supply and demand are in play.

Raise the cost of labor and the demand will fall. More technology will be used, fewer workers able to produce more will be worked longer hours, etc ... until the "progressive" dream of the USSR is re-realized here (no doubt "correctly" this time in their eternal faith), raising the cost of labor will lower the demand.  (and one of the reasons the "new USSR" will fail as well is because you can't actually repeal either the laws of supply and demand nor gravity).
The same goes for war. When it comes to ISIS, Republicans just want to send in troops and “crush the terrorists.” They’ve hammered President Obama relentlessly about how he’s handled the entire situation. See, to many of them, they just want to go in guns blazing because that’s what sounds good. But as we’ve learned by our previous war in Iraq, going into these situations haphazardly without a plan leads to absolute chaos. Remember, the existence of the ISIS we see today is a direct result of Bush’s Iraq War.
Some "progressives" even go farther back and blame Churchill for creating Israel. Many progressive "fixes" require a time machine. I wonder why it is that we still have troops in Germany, Japan and South Korea? WWII has been over for while, as has the Korean war. BO declared that Iraq was stable in 2011, and in what I consider possibly the most feckless action ever by a president, declared that pulling the troops out and letting it re-descend into chaos was "not his decision".

It is interesting that in the case of healthcare the very same person argues that BOcare provides "more early care", which is GOOD, but in the case of global cancers like ISIS, or I'm sure Fascism, Communism in the past, the smart answer is to just let it go and it will fix itself. Funny how that works ... consistency is never something to consider in the "smart progressive" world.

Presidential Christmas Spirit

JOSEPH CURL: At Christmastime, George W. Bush was Santa, Obama is Scrooge - Washington Times:

This was published in 2014 ... but worth a look.

Being Republican means that the MSM will never point out good things you do even if it benefits them personally. The Washington Times is a conservative paper though.
But here’s the thing: In December, we never left Washington, D.C., until the day after Christmas. Never. Mr. Bush and his wife, Laura, would always depart the White House a few days before the holiday and hunker down at Camp David, the presidential retreat in Maryland. After a few years, I asked a low-level White House staffer why.
I still remember what she said: “So all of us can be with our families on Christmas".
The President can leave town when he wants. He can care for "the little guy", or he can "let them eat cake".  People can yammer about "inequality" all they want, but those that live in the real world know that there are always GIGANTIC inequalities that mean far more than money -- lost health, mental and physical, lost loved ones -- sometimes just age, but often accident, disease, addictions, depression ... lost faith, the list would fill pages.

We are ALL "little people" -- though some of us have blessings beyond measure. Last year I was probably sitting in this same spot at some point, but no children were home and I knew that none would be arriving. It was our first empty nest Christmas. We still did good things -- visited my Dad and some family in Barron, church, etc. We were STILL very much blessed -- the kids were alive and healthy, they called and talked with us ... they were just not with us, and that is to be expected some years. But logic is logic and emotion is emotion. It IS, and "it is what it is" ... you accept it and focus on doing as well as you can as it passes like the weather. Good or bad, it always passes.

THIS year, son Garrett, wife Vicki and our precious granddaughter Tula are here and life is grand! Son Keenan arrives on Christmas Day and we will all be up at Barron for a great celebration with that side of the family, with Tula's Baptism and special Christmas with the Bruellman side of the family over the weekend. Our cup runneth over!

Some believe that the government can "fix" inequality by playing a modern Robin Hood with the mighty dollar ... stealing from the rich and giving the poor. I don't, but maybe so -- it's a bad time of the year to argue.  We can just agree to disagree.

It IS however true that a President can decide to hang around Camp David so that the bulk of the  massive staff, security, reporters, pilots, etc can spend Christmas with their families. As the reporter in the article says, those years were priceless -- as I know this year is to me.

Sure, but the cynics will say "that's just a few hundred people at most". Like the guy walking along the beach with hundres of starfish washed up, throwing a few back into the sea being approached by a cynic who says "You can't even help a tiny fraction of all those starfish!, Why bother?". The other man replied "I can help that one." As he threw another back into the sea.

Somehow I like it better than W's thoughtfulness is largely unsung -- he was around politics long enough that he no doubt knew that what he did would not be appreciated at least very publicly, because politics, especially left wing media politics, takes no "time off", and Christmas itself is an affront to much of the other side.

Likewise, Obama knows he can do what he wants and there will be little or no critical coverage .. he is not subject to this kind of thinly veiled disgust about W and "his ranch" ...

But he will make time for fun, or at least his idea of it. Bush rarely takes the type of vacation one would consider exotic -- or, to some, even appealing. His notion of relaxation is chopping cedar on his ranch or mountain biking through rough terrain, all in 100-degree-plus temperatures in dusty Texas where crickets are known to roast on the summer pavement. He seems to relish the idea of exposing aides and reporters to the hothouse environment.
What a bumpkin! Chopping cedar, mountain hiking in sweltering temperatures when he could be coddled in luxury at the Hamptons, Martha's Vineyard, Hawaii or a host of other wonderful destinations. How sad!

That is the world we live in. "The Party" with all it's massive control of the entire government bureaucracy, 90% of the media, entertainment and education works 24x7 to make BO look as good as they possibly can. They worked just as hard for 8 years to make W look bad, but somehow, it doesn't work as well as they believe it HAS TO!

It reminds me of the season -- Herod certainly didn't want to have the King of the Jews arrive, but somehow he still did. As Christians, we know that the battle is won, but here deep in the game, way behind, with the situation looking hopeless, it often doesn't look that way.

But there are always "hints" if you listen and look. The spirit wins out -- it can't be faked or manufactured, but it also can't be hidden, for in truth, all that survives is spirit.

Spirit and Truth ... the only way to KNOW!

The Almighty Climate Disconnect

To The Horror Of Global Warming Alarmists, Global Cooling Is Here - Forbes:
"Booker could have been writing about Robinson when he concluded his Sunday Telegraph commentary by writing, “Has there ever in history been such an almighty disconnect between observable reality and the delusions of a political class that is quite impervious to any rational discussion?”"
Yea, probably ... the run up to WWII and the appeasement of Hitler come to mind.

This article is a good narrative of climate from Medieval Warming Period through the Little Ice Age to today with discussion of our increasing knowledge of the effects of the sun on earth temperatures.

We have had a warm and wet fall and start of winter here in MN, so it FEELS like we might be under "Global Warming" since a white Christmas will be "just barely" (it's snowing now). Local conditions in the short term are not relevant to "climate change" ... cold or hot. "Climate" is about huge advancement/retreat in CONTINENTAL GLACIERS  ... as I continue to harp on, since the last glaciation we are in the midst of a historically long warm spell, the previous analogue being 120K years ago. We are in the 5th peak in 450K years ... just imagine for a moment what it is like during ALL that time in the squiggles below -2 ! Hello mile of ice over Chicago!

As I've covered a number of times, plants really like CO2 and they like warmth MUCH better than cold. In fact, if the predictions of this article and a few others I've done blogs on come true, we may REALLY have a problem with FOOD rather than having to have some people move off the beach!

Let's not look at those previous temp peaks very long -- if one does, you realize that our next "cooling" could last for "order 100K" rather than order "couple hundred".

Now 100K years of -2 to MINUS 9! cooling could REALLY "explain climate"!

Do you suppose they would give up on "AGW is settled" after 50K years? Nah ... settled is SETTLED!

Oh wait, it was the Cruz girls. Surprisingly they did actually pull the cartoon ... Cruz is just Hispanic, and I'm not sure, but being an R, probably a "white hispanic" ... like Zimmerman.

Nothing racist or nasty about this!

Want to make any bets if it was the Obama girls the cartoonist would be fired?

Lake Wobegon, Clinton Vows To Close Half the Schools

Clinton: 'I Wouldn't Keep Any School Open That Wasn't Doing A Better Than Average Job' | The Weekly Standard:

Super ... first she will close half the schools, the next year she will close half of them again ...etc.

Well, at least we will save a lot of money on education!

And W was "stupid"?

The U Shaped Curve

Yes, America's middle class has been disappearing....into higher income groups - AEI | Carpe Diem Blog » AEIdeas:

The linked article is worth reading ... yes, the middle class is shrinking, BUT it is shrinking because people are BOTH falling and rising! The bottom grew from 25 to 29% since 1971, the top grew from 14 to 21% ... so 4 points for poverty, 7 points for wealth!

We should also note that the lower middle and upper middle stayed basically constant -- so all the "middle flight" was to the extremes.

We are heading toward a classic U shaped curve -- the opposite of "the standard curve", or the "bell shaped curve" -- the "normal distribution". In the U-curve the action is at the extremes, the UNnatural curve.

I did a LITTLE research on it, and ran into Francis Galton, an interesting guy who came up with a machine that would show the normal distribution, but also came up with one of the first U shaped curves relative to "consumption" ... "wasting away", normally from cancer, but they didn't know what in those days.

One of the other references referred to the U shaped curve as "the hard math class curve" -- the one where the good mathematicians excel of course, but one that is advanced enough that the vast majority of people know not to get in the class, so the "middle" bows out -- only the foolish, those with inflated opinions of themselves, etc also enter and fail miserably. Thus the "U".

Nobody really "knows" why this is happening ... the article just focuses on the good news that more people are rising than falling, but "nature" would expect a BELL with tails at the ends and nearly 70% clustered in the middle, with tails on either end dividing the rest. Both "poor" and "rich" would hold 2.27% each, with lower middle and upper middle holding 13.59% each.

My reasoning as to possible reasons is the following:
  • Technology is leverage. Those that are able to use it excel, those who do not tend to fall -- a long way.
  • Technology allows "mass everything" ... those that win, win A LOT, those that don't win fall to the bottom.
  • The vast increase in government means that the lower class is subsidized, but both the middle and upper classes are penalized. Our two IBM incomes made us "upper". We are now falling to being "middle to upper middle" ... we were HEAVILY penalized for being "upper",  and the penalties continue and are rising as we fall -- huge deductibles on our insurance for higher cost insurance, and always taxes, taxes, taxes.
  • The previous point creates a "step function" ... if you can stay below the point at which you lose government benefits and start paying taxes, it is a big benefit. If you want to stay at the upper level, it takes A LOT of effort, income, risk taking, etc, **AND** you pay HUGE penalties for all that work! Because of the technology leverage, there are more people that CAN achieve that level, but it takes a toll, and after a certain length of time (the voice of experience speaking here), they just get tired of running the rat race and paying the penalties ... so they slide down the scale, PLUS government policy hastens their slide as it sucks away the assets / pension that they have built.
  • Given the previous two points, the vast majority of the population "wises up" ... "you can't fight city hall", let alone Uncle Sam! College doesn't pay, and even learning a trade means you have to get up and go to work every day. Father a couple kids out of wedlock, live with some single mother on welfare -- move around a bit. Tomcats do it, why not people? (covered here)
I could keep going, but the point is that unless we change the course of the nation, I'd expect this trend to continue and become a "backward J" with a large number of people on the low end and less and less on the high. One might call that "The Statist Curve" ... less and less people willing and able to take the risks, work hard enough, and pay the penalties required to support those at the bottom, and more and more than either burn out, get old, see that both the "deck" and the sanctions of their nation are stacked against moving up the income ladder.

The UNnatural curve is a sign that nature is not taking it's course -- the average are not excelling to the best of their ability while being led (and provided workplaces) by the few able to achieve at the very high level, with only a small set (the same as the upper set) falling to the bottom unable to cope with the environment. For the moment we are moving slightly toward a "J-shape" since more have moved  to the top since '71, but 29% at bottom and 21% at top tells me that this hopeful trend will not likely continue. I predict the bottom is going to grow more and the top will slow down.

Were trends to continue with more rising than falling, perhaps a U-shaped curve could continue, but it seems unlikely to me. I suspect that the left is fine with a slightly tilted U (more at the bottom) as we have now, or even the reverse J with LOTS at the bottom voting for "The Party", and a tiny minority at the top "happily" paying the freight for all the "free stuff".

Interesting none the less ... not the kind of info you see much of in "The Party" controlled media!

Amerika Gets Schlonged

Donald Trump: Hillary Clinton 'got schlonged' in 2008 - CNNPolitics.com:

Anyone who is even in their 20's knows that our society has become cruder and cruder. Madam Hildebeast's husband put semen stains on dresses, dropping trou and asking a subordinate for "service", "cigars", and a bunch of other things on our front pages. "Shameless" became a concept that no longer had any meaning.

Between the gays, trans, and "????"s, a drunken sailor from WWII would be offended at our current "culture". Any decent person would, but we no longer know what a "decent person" even is -- in fact, what used to be decent people. Heterosexuals, Christians, hard workers, law abiding citizens, etc are now "privileged", "bitter clingers", "bigots" and "racists". What used to be evil is now good and what used to be good is now evil.

So the media is shocked at what Trump says and wants the public to be as well??? What planet have they been living on??? Crude is the order of the day and "The Donald" appeals to it just as he did on reality TV ... yet another sign of the complete destruction of "culture".

It is unclear if they realize what they are doing -- although it is hard to imagine that they don't. The actual overall "front runner" directly lied to the American public and refused to apologize. She said that Trump was featured on an ISIS recruitment video when in fact her husband, "Fornicator in Chief" was!

**IF** the media dealt in any sort of "even handedness or facts", they would certainly report a direct and provably false slander that reeks with irony.

But they don't. Truth doesn't exist for them, and they make it obvious to the vast majority that "there is no such thing as truth"!!! When there is no truth, POWER IS ALL THERE IS!

That is the message they present for BO ... ignore the Constitution, whine, scold, take "executive action", refuse to negotiate, call your opponents names, etc They LOVE it with BO, and they SUPPORT IT!! They establish "the standard" (or lack thereof) and then are surprised when the unwashed masses don't understand that "standard" is ONLY for the "TP approved"!

So Trump is "BO with Balls" ... and they are surprised! The Party seeks to coronate the Wicked Witch as Queen, and they are surprised that she is locked in a battle with a humbug ... "The Great and Powerful Oz"!!!!

We are "through the looking glass", "over the rainbow", but most of all, we are completely "schlonged"! I'm sorry the world is that crude -- but that is the unfortunate reality we live in!

A Little Hillary Lying Video

Not very long and worth the watch -- Trump is absolutely right about this one. She lies congenitally ... even when she has no reason to!!! This is all documented on video in this case -- there isn't any "opinion / bias". Why would anyone vote for someone that there is no reason to EVER listen to because a HUGE percentage of what she says is certain to be a boldface lie?

If Trump gets elected, "The Party" being willing to put this weasel on their ticket will be a major part of the reason!

Trump Truthful Compared to Hildebeast! ISIS "Slick" Recruitment

Hillary Clinton camp to Donald Trump: 'Hell no' apology - CNNPolitics.com:

Hildebeast sets a VERY low bar for truthfulness! No wonder, lying is a Clinton family tradition, and we have already had a LOT of experience with that!

So she says that Trump is being used in ISIS recruitment. Well, unsurprisingly, no evidence of that, but there IS someone she might know on an ISIS recruitment video -- her bimbo chasing hubby Slick! Talk about a "Slick recruiting video!".

The ISIS video is worth watching, they may be evil, but they actually DO believe in something as opposed to this sorry area of N America. How about these slogans for Amerika?
  • One nation, 51 genders, and too many sexual preferences to count
  • Land of convenience and home of dead babies
  • We USED to be America -- won WWII, went to the moon, decided to get drunk and stoned and call ourselves history.
  • Exceptional Like Greece! -- Without the cool thinkers
  • Following the has-been tradition of England Since 1932!
  • Killing our culture, our babies and ourselves because we deserve it!
  • We're so moral we destroyed ourselves to avoid God's judgement.
  • Our people aren't responsible enough to have guns. Can we send you home from Gitmo with some?

POTUS (Potty of the US)

Finally, an Explanation for Hillary Clinton's Long Bathroom Break - First Draft. Political News, Now. - The New York Times:

I can only imagine if the press had a chance to go after W or say Dan Quayle on an incident like this.

On the purely human level, it IS funny -- Hillary is on the high side of thinking herself to be "royalty", and the fact of human life is that even the greatest human king or queen sitting on a throne sits on their ass ... and in fact sits on the more mundane porcelain "throne" as well to deal with the facts of biology.

I didn't waste time watching the D's "debate", but this was prevalently featured on conservative media -- I discovered today, not nearly so prevalent on the MSM.

Even queen Hildebeast needs to obey the call of nature!

The Bitter Onion Awakens

Obama Accuses Trump of Exploiting Working-Class Fears - The New York Times:
President Obama said in a radio interview airing on Monday that Donald J. Trump, a leading contender for the Republican presidential nomination, is exploiting the resentment and anxieties of working-class men to boost his campaign. Mr. Obama also argued that some of the scorn directed at him personally stems from the fact that he is the first African-American to hold the White House.
While I often find "The Onion" to be more factual than NPR, NPR doesn't have the intention of being as entertaining as The Onion, and in that lack of entertainment value, they truly excel!

Mr all time exploiter in chief thinks that Trump is exploiting the "resentment and anxieties of the working class"!! Well, I'll be damned, I guess that is somehow less "honorable" than exploiting the resentment and anxieties of the NON-WORKING CLASS!

I guess that is unfair, BO also exploits the CRIMINAL CLASS -- as in Ferguson, Baltimore, etc and his push to release thousands of felons from prison. I suppose in BO's "Amerika", having the gumption to go out and do some crime amounts to being "highly motivated"!

Nobody ought to be worried about ISIS, minority thugs, the IRS investigating conservative groups, less and less people working, etc, but we ought to ALL be worried about "Climate Change", law abiding people with guns, "racism", "anti-Muslim sentiment" (even though anti-Jewish is far more prevalent) and a host of other "ills of the American culture" that BO really wants to "correct".  Bad things like "freedom of speech" (see Citizens United),  bad things like people living where they want (see AFFH) ... and of course the biggie that just keeps on giving, er, rather TAKING if you are or were stupid enough to work and/or save money!

BO broke a lot of new ground in exploitation and it got him elected -- things that work tend to be repeated, so we can expect to see a LOT more of it!

Affirmative Racism

President of Minnesota's Rochester College faces backlash in her first year | Inside Higher Ed:

The current president of the local community college has managed to create a local debacle to compete with BO nationally on the local scene. Naturally, the "cause" of this is assumed to be "racism" -- Rochester is just too lily white and definitely needs to "get it's mind right". It got to be too much for even MSCU, and she was forced to resign -- too bad BO could not be forced out!

This isn't the first case here in Rochester. We had a black superintendent of schools here for 3 years named Romain Dallemand who caused lots of problems and left under a cloud for Macon Georgia -- the message from many at the time was as well, "Rochester is racist". He ran up 26+ million in Macon and fled to Haiti rather than face prosecution -- I'm guessing that his choice of hiding locale was "racially motivated"!

It is clear that the community has a problem ... students of color in our schools are being disciplined disproportionately as well! The problem is at least statewide -- Minneapolis is taking steps to INSURE that less blacks are disciplined their ratio is 10 to 1, and we KNOW that it CAN'T be the case that black students commit more infractions than white students!

I know this will come as a SHOCK to you, but BOYS are commonly greater discipline problems than girls to tune of 2x - 5x! It is CERTAINLY impossible that boys could actually cause that much more disruption, so the ONLY possible explanation is anti-male bias. Right?

We hear the same discussion on incarceration rates -- but as I've pointed out before, the homicide rates for young blacks are HORRIBLE! But that can be blamed on "racism" as well.

The base problem is that the left believes that ALL situations that they want to "fix", CAN be "fixed" by government action, WITHOUT any bad effects. Since in the real world, those assumptions are provably not true, they create a huge number of problems and cost A LOT of lives, but since their belief in "positive social change through government" is a RELIGIOUS BELIEF, not subject to modification by factual information, the deaths and large community problems have to continue and be made worse so liberals can "feel good" about all that they have done and continue to do!

There is the old joke of the Republican who can't swim that walks by a dock and sees a person drowning 100' out. He picks up a rope, ties it to a float, ties the other end to the dock and throws it out as close to the person as he can and encourages them to swim for the float.

A Democrat comes along on the same scene -- throws a bunch of ropes and floats out randomly, tying them to nothing and heads off to do their next good deal of the day!

In fact, that is generous -- the Democrat would blame some previous administration for there not being better swimming lessons, no signs up to "don't go in the water if you can't swim", and no public paid minority lifeguard earning a "minimum wage". Taxes must be raised on the "wealthy" to insure that nobody else drowns! (never let a crisis go to waste!).

The Democrat policies of the '60s ... "urban renewal", welfare, aid to dependent children, etc have destroyed the black culture and emasculated the black male to where a life of substance abuse, crime, violence and incarceration is the norm. Putting a few people of color in positions they are not able to succeed in makes the situation worse, as does not providing discipline and standards in the school systems, but TP **CAN'T** admit that they have created a horrible mess -- that "mess" is a core of their voting base, and even more important, it is the core of their vote fraud machines in large US urban areas!

As abortion shows, if millions have to die so TP can maintain and gain power, TP sees that as a SMALL price to be paid!

So the only path is to "double down" -- more programs, more people of color in jobs they can't handle, less discipline for blacks in schools. The nation is heading for a brick wall -- FLOOR IT!

We're Plucked!

The first really fits with this one  ....

OK, Power Line was really good this week ... a little seasonal modern philosophy! Perhaps the world would  be better off if some folks guardian angels maybe gave them just a LITTLE shove ??

Coordination, Burden of Proof

The NYT Just Disappeared A Devastating Obama Admission:

Public Radio and based on FB posts from liberals, "The Party" (TP-D) spent some time this past week on the horrors of the Citizens United SCOTUS ruling and "Big Money" on politics. Most horribly of all,  "coordination".  In CA they passed a new law that makes "political coordination" a "crime" in which if you are charged, the burden of proof is on YOU to "prove you are innocent".

The regulation effectively shifts the burden of proof in cases of suspected coordination from the government to the candidate or outside spending committee.
Read more here: http://www.sacbee.com/news/politics-government/capitol-alert/article39362607.html#storylink=cpy
Naturally, NPR was all in favor of this "marvelous idea" -- with nary a concern that it violates one of the most basic principles of justice -- "the presumption of innocence"!  The NPR assumption is that since the vast majority of the government bureaucracy and legal system is all left leaning, the constant coordination of all types that TP operates with will continue, and they will be able to jail conservatives trying to achieve a tiny fraction of the total coordination that TP uses every day!

Certainly a VERY "good idea" for TP! (it happens to break one of most basic of human rights, but TP!)

The linked NYTs article is just a TINY example of MSM / TP coordination. In an interview with NYT, BO declared:

In his meeting with the columnists, Mr. Obama indicated that he did not see enough cable television to fully appreciate the anxiety after the attacks in Paris and San Bernardino, and made clear that he plans to step up his public arguments.

This came out this past Thursday, but the NY Times quickly realized that this didn't really look that good for their guy BO, so the linked article shows the litany of changes they went through to get "on message". Nice to have our nations supposed "paper of record" daily coordinating activity with TP don't ya think?

The original headline of the column that included the embarrassing quote was:
“Obama Visiting National Counterterrorism Center.”
By the time they had removed the offending quote and went through a few revisions, the headline read:
“Assailed by G.O.P., Obama Defends His Response To Terror Attacks.”
At least when you are member of TP, you are NEVER "assailed by the New York Times"!! ... In fact, articles and even headlines are tuned to put you in the best light possible and any opposition in the worst light possible! BO erroneously thought that he needed to "watch more cable tv", when "in fact" (as reported by the NYtimes), it was all the fault of the GOP all along!

If you have an R next to your name, having to raise money from outside groups is a "crime" for which you are GUILTY until you "prove yourself innocent" -- and we all know that proving a negative is a lot of fun. ( please PROVE you are NOT a space alien!)

We already know that "consistency is not an issue", but one might think that with the frequency that the left cites the "UN Universal Declaration of Human Rights", they MIGHT find it interesting that they suddenly find it an excellent idea to apply the exact INVERSE of article 11 to their "political enemies"!
Everyone charged with a penal offence has the right to be presumed innocent until proved guilty according to law in a public trial at which he has had all the guarantees necessary for his defence.
The US is a supposed signer to these accords -- no word yet on the likelihood that NPR and CA are going to be prosecuted under the UN for violation of "basic human rights" ... oh wait, we can only assume that a conservative is like "fetus" just not really human, basically "deplorable"  ... and we know what that means!

Capt Kirk to the Bridge! Meals on Keels

The Buoy and the Sci-Fi Destroyer | The American Spectator:

Mostly a post because I like one-liner humor.

Referring to the natural progression of problems that can arise on ships at sea; first you become a buoy, then you become a reef! Funny unless it happens to you ... and as was in the news recently and covered in the linked article, our new $362M destroyer "Milwaukee" had to be towed back to port after a couple weeks at sea due to "metal filings" completely stopping their propulsion systems. One likes to imagine that a ship that might face battle would be designed with some level of redundancy -- apparently not enough.

The Capt Kirk reference is relative to the actual captain of our new "USS Zumwalt" (James Kirk), a stealth littoral defense ship that runs $3 BILLION a copy! It also looks odd -- as the columnist opines "like the box a destroyer comes in".

"Meals on Keels" is a snide reference to His Potent Odiferousness believing that the Navy (and the military in general) is largely for "social engineering".

I firmly believe that **ALL** human endeavors, even mine, definitely need to have humor poked at them FREQUENTLY. From Adam on, the propensity of humans to be FAR "too big for their britches" is universal, and unfortunately it doesn't really go away once we get through our "terrible twos".

That's the biggest take away from the enjoyable article -- new technology will break, things will cost too much and commanders in chief will have random thoughts about what the military might do forever -- and hopefully we remember to enjoy our follies!

Auto Deaths Down, Give Us Your GUNS!

Guns are now killing as many people as cars in the U.S. - The Washington Post:

In this age of the sound-bite, "Guns Kill As Many as Cars!" is no doubt what we will see often repeated. It is a tiny bit more "accurate" than "97% Of Scientists Agree on AGW!", but then "accuracy" isn't what matters today.

Highway deaths have been dropping -- less drunk driving, better safety features, better roads, etc. SO ... since highway deaths DROPPED, let's report the equivalence to guns! Simple!

But wait, SUICIDE accounts for more than half of the "gun deaths", and suicide is rising SO FAST that total suicides ALONE are a larger cause of death than  car crashes! But that isn't so much of a headline is it? "The Party" doesn't gain power by reducing suicide deaths -- in fact, TP is the party of death -- making suicide easy / assisted / etc is something they FAVOR!

While TP may occasionally try to correlate suicide with guns, they won't spend a lot of time on it since such gun happy locales as South Korea (#2), Japan(#17), Finland, Belgium, Iceland (#33-35) appear before the US at #50. We are however rising fast as TP rapidly sucks all meaning from life. They would be HAPPY with whatever suicide rate we ended up with as long as they could get the damned guns off the streets so their path to total power was at least cleared of that hurdle!

But no doubt we will get to hear about this "startling statistic" that "Guns kill as many people as cars!" ... possibly even MORE as suicides continue to rise and car deaths hopefully continue to fall.

No reason things have to make sense if they support the TP agenda!

Allah Praised, Christ Removed

Virginia district cancels school over Islamic lesson anger - The Washington Post:

Imagine people being offended by their kids copying "There is no god but Allah, and Muhammad is his  messenger"? How backward. How non-inclusive. How "un-american" -- or at least in opposition to what WaPo and TP have decided is supposed to be the "creed", "high mindedness" or "sophisticated educated thinking" of today.

Had somebody put up a Christmas Tree, had a Christmas Program, or (horror!) said "Merry Christmas" to their class, the ACLU would be involved, teachers and administrators would be being fired, sued, etc, and the national media would be screaming about Separation of Church and STATE with extreme umbrage and in total support of even a single complainer who was forced to (gasp) view a Christmas Tree!

As it is, WaPo is disappointed that people took offence in something as non-offensive (to them) as repeating what millions of Christians over the centuries  have died rather than repeat, and even today at least thousands are being beheaded, burned, stoned, etc for failing to comply with.

We have been treated to supposedly "righteous" outrage over manger scenes, The Ten Commandments, silent prayer and yes, even  "Merry Christmas" on a frequent basis, and especially in this season, for decades now.

Not ALL the sheeple appear to be completely ready for the next phase beyond the removal all connection to Christ in anything public, and replacement with "whatever", including Allah or Santa.  So WaPo is disappointed they have more "education" to do!

Every human has a religion. What is yours? Do you worship the State? Science? Money? Mother Earth? Your own ego? (I think they are trying to decide if that is called "BOism" or "Trumpist")

Here yet again, we see that it all comes down to Christ -- the ultimate divider and uniter. He divides the ages into BC and AD, and he unites mankind into Blood Brothers in Christ, or divides to all the various "doers" working to gain some sort of afterlife or to distract themselves to the belief that this is all there is. Not even the WaPo is offended by Allah or Mohammed ... they know they are dead and imaginary and so the idea of someone copying a statement of faith in them gives no offence.

But "Merry Christmas"? Or very recently even "Thoughts and Prayers" uttered by Christians is enough to bring out the torches and pitchforks and go on a hunt. Much fear in their reaction I sense! (it is Star Wars day ;-) )

TP hates Christ, so they hate Christmas.  It seems that the chief TP sacrament of abortion is their ritual of "remembrance in death" of the one infant that made it to the manger and to the cross that they would have MOST liked to abort. With each of the millions of deaths of the most innocent, their hearts quiver with renewed hatred for the spirit of that one babe they most wanted extinguished and they still fear above all else.

There is another way ... it is the best of seasons to allow that spirit to enfold you. It isn't just "captive Israel" that longs for his return in glory!

Let It Burn

Jeb is not the most important Bush in the 2016 campaign - The Washington Post:

I look at the disarray in the world, the country, and the Republican party and the emotional response is definitely "let it burn". The use and reuse of the "Mission Accomplished" picture, when the banner was FOR THE SHIP, which they put up when they came back from one of the longest deployments in recent history is a mark of what passes for "journalism" in The Party (TP-D) controlled media, but is really just partisan propaganda.

It's from OVER A DECADE AGO ... back then, both BO and Hillary were committed to being AGAINST gay "marriage", and BO was AGAINST raising the debt ceiling! But "old positions" for TP members are down the memory hole instantly, and propaganda pictures against the opposition are FOREVER ... embalmed and on display like Stalin in the old USSR.

We could take all sorts of FACTUAL things relative to BO ... like his voting against raising the debt ceiling as a senator and then his castigating Republicans for their concerns with his MUCH bigger deficits and "rub them in over and over" (if we had a conservative MSM), but the fact is that the majority of this country just doesn't care. They bleat to the TP drum and they will continue to do so until it gets REALLY bad -- and even then, my sense is that the will to "something better" if it involves work, risk, commitment, principles, etc as opposed to "give me free stuff and blame others" is that we no longer have what it takes to compete in the real world.

My summary of the BO debacle is this video:

When there is no such thing as "truth" or "responsibility" and a nation abandons its Constitution, there is simply nothing worth saving left.

We are still yammering about decisions and events of '03 ... that war was won, and then lost by BO in the meantime, and TODAY IS TODAY -- yet the sort of abject hypocrisy on display in the video is ignored and the MSM continues to focus on a moment that they actually know to be completely FALSE from 2003! It is what happens when nobody cares about their country -- only about "their side winning".

At some point if we were to still have a nation, we would have to go FORWARD toward "something" that a large majority of people would actually believe in! Something like a Constitution, or "self-evident TRUTHS", or actually being "under God" or "endowed by our Creator" ... something more than "give me my free stuff RIGHT NOW!".

But apparently, like the 1930's is it going to take  something BIG in our face like WWII --  9-11 to a 10, 100 or 1000x before either we capitulate for good or pull up our panties and DO SOMETHING!

I don't think we have a choice at this point but to just watch the current world and country burn, and then hope that something arises from the ashes. It may not, but it is clear that we are going to have to fall a LONG way more before a significant number of people face the reality of today.

I've never cared so little for politics since I got out of college. Perhaps a vote for Trump "gets it over with quicker" ... which unfortunately seems like the best of the very bad alternatives!

Fact Checking the Left

Debunking 5 Phony Statistics Liberals Love To Toss Around - John Hawkins - Page full:

In the past couple of years, "Fact Checking" has become a cottage industry for the MSM. Naturally, they always conclude that Republican candidates are darned near "fact free", and left wing candidates "occasionally make honest mistakes". Shocking I know.

Five standard left wing "facts" that are COMMONLY used are debunked here:
  1. 1 in 5 college coeds have been raped.
  2. Abuse of wives peaks during the Super Bowl (heard that one on MPR a couple months ago)
  3. 50% of marriages end in divorce
  4. 19% of the population is gay
  5. 97% of scientists agree on global warming
I'd put #5 at #1 ... it is so ridiculous and SO commonly used that it deserves that spot. A good number of Republican "lies" / non-factual statements, etc come from them disagreeing on global warming. The left "declares it settled", so any Republican that disagrees is "lying" -- a tidy advantage of owning the media, the universities and the entire government bureaucracy!

Since most of the media is left wing, the vast majority of the "fact checkers" are left wing as well, and unsurprisingly, they choose which statements ought to be "checked" and they "check" them with their biases firmly in place. Unsuprisingly, it certainly looks to THEM that Republicans are pretty much "liars", and Democrats are basically speakers of gospel! What a shocking surprise --- but of course if you dig just a tiny bit, who really needs to be checked are the "fact checkers".
There is a "truth gap" in Washington, but it doesn't exist along the lines the fact checkers would have you think. It was Obama who said you could keep the health care you had if you liked it, even if Obamacare became law. It was Obama who said the Citizens United decision would open the floodgates of foreign money into U.S. campaigns. It was Obama who said Benghazi happened because of a YouTube video. It was Obama's IRS that denied conservative political groups had been singled out for special scrutiny. And it was Obama who promised that taxes would not go up for any American making less than $250,000 per year.
All of these statements and plenty more are demonstrably false, though some people still pretend there is truth in them. As the Lichter study demonstrates, it's not so much fact checkers that are needed as it is fact checkers to check the facts being checked.

Dreaming Of Equally Lawless Destruction

Obama Power: Cruz or Trump Can Use It Too:

The main topic of the column is the old playground ethic of "anything you do to me I will do to you twice has hard and twice as nasty!" -- revenge, as the Klingon's say, "Is a dish best served cold" (so does "The Godfather" BTW).

The thing is, that conservatives tend to be aware that the ethics of the playground, as understood at least since ancient times, as in an "eye for an eye" needs to be LIMITED. You don't understand "an eye for an eye" as being limited? Oh, it IS ... VERY ... compared to "kill them all -- women, children, oxen, slaves, ....) People like BO ... who proudly claims that the true identity of being a Luo Tribesman, subscribe to the "law of the jungle", that of "tooth and claw", that which Hobbes claimed we created Leviathan with it's "law" to make more just, thus trading some of our freedom for the benefits of law.

Law found it's power in ancient things like "The Ten Commandments", or "Hammurabi's Code", and demanded to be revered -- but reverence is unknown on the playground, in the jungle, or with the tribe, so we have returned to our "roots" -- meaning NO LAW!

I really don't think it is very likely that ANY Republican will be elected next year, and I firmly believe that if that unlikely event happens and it is anyone other than Trump, the playground ethic of revenge from this column will hold no sway. Conservatives believe in not just the rule of law, but even in divine power beyond law,  precedence even, as in not overturning things like "Roe v Wade", even though they are noxious usurpations of the rule of law.

HOWEVER, if Trump is the whirlwind that we reap, then absolutely -- all bets are off, and our new King will behave much like BO. I'd see him as "better" than BO since a lot of what he might do would at least be AN ATTEMPT to "Make America Great" rather than "Attempts to make America Like Greece" as we have seen BO doing, but lawless just the same.

The sad thing is that once law is traded for power, we live in the jungle -- the path of restoration of law is very unclear at best, and most likely goes through things getting MUCH worse, followed by one or more revolutions, after which MAYBE our people come to their senses and realize that LAW means "agreed to LIMITS for ALL", not "if I can get MY judges, bureaucrats, lawless president, etc elected, then I will run roughshod over YOU with impunity".

TP (The Party) DID get all that, and they HAVE been running roughshod -- but at some point, it always slides into Totalitarianism. Trump may be that point, or it might be delayed a bit -- or Hillary may well be that point. She has declared that she will do "something about guns" via "
executive order", which means that she has promised to take an explicitly unconstitutional action, thus violating in advance the oath she would take if she won the office.

The "round up the guns" might bring on the war that officially ends the America that has already ended as a culture and an ideal.

Gender Is Fluid, Orientation is Fixed

Why I Won't Label My Sexuality:

OK, COSMO was the ONLY article that I could find to anchor my "random neural firing of the day". On my way home from workout and running a couple errands ... a little slowly as the rain changed to snow during my workout and it is white now, I was treated to a conversation on NPR about how racist MN is.

Turns out it is MORE racist than Mississippi and Alabama BECAUSE, some of the statistics -- like gap between white / black on test scores, gap in income, prison population, getting arrested, etc are WORSE in MN, but PR believes that CAN'T be true, because MN is "progressive". I'm not going to spend time on this (little things like if MORE white people are earning more and there is a LOWER percentage of black people, it seems like the numbers might be skewed), but "whatever". For the blacks in the conversation it was ALL due to white racism, and to the progressives, it HAD to be something else, but they were at a loss to explain it ... such is the left.

Somebody commented on a post on FB that "gender is fluid, and it is WRONG to try to make it fixed", and my brain fired, did a Google, and here I am.

Is it not ALSO wrong to try to assert that sexual orientation is "fluid"? Is not the idea of counselling to change from gay to straight one of the "new abominations" (the old ones are all now legally protected classes!) I could swear that in the same universe that I'm currently occupying people recently said things like "a person that is gay is exactly the same as people that are heterosexual, only with the orientation to being gay -- and it is ALWAYS going to be that way for them! It is COMPLETELY FIXED and they MUST act on it, or they are not true to themselves!

NOTE:: This is completely different for alcoholics, who we are told also are "made that way", but for them, nobody that I know suggests that "They MUST drink, to not drink would be a LIE!  They would not be being true to their NATURE!" ... Just for the record, my belief is that we ALL have "tendencies", to A LOT of stuff, good, bad, or indifferent. Our genetic tendencies, our upbringing, our choices, chance, etc and a whole set of factors make for "behaviors" to arise from "tendency". While some tendencies are VERY strong, "compulsions" even, WITH THE HELP OF GOD (or "higher power" it you must), we all have hope of being "more than our tendencies".

We used to have "GLBT" ... which was Gay, Lesbian, BI-sexual, and Transvestite ... and they have completely the same "rights" as the tired old "H" for Hetero ... and boring "He made them male and female". (although exactly what "Bi-sexual marriage" was or is (since it IS a "right"), is not really defined).

But already we now have "GLBTQ" where "Q" is typically either "Queer" or "Questioning". A "definition from proximate link:
"Queer retains that critical edge against regimes of the normal of assimilation and privilege," Octavio R. González, an English professor at Wellesley College told USA TODAY Network.
I'd have to say they have possibly arrived at the best "definition" of what it means to exist in the broad swath of N America between Mexico and Canada today. "Critical edge against regimes" -- I certainly feel that against the TP (The Party-D)  regime of BO! ... "the normal of assimilation and privilege". Hmm, I'm guessing he doesn't mean "the normal" of universities, the MSM, entertainment, government bureaucracy and the domination of TP, but what does he mean? "White people"? or just heterosexuals? I'm not in favor of the current regime, and I definitely don't want to be assimilated into TP, so maybe I'm "Queer"??

As you might guess, Q is not likely to be the last letter ... "A" is either "asexual" as in not having any, or "allies" meaning whatever someone comes up with (assuming it isn't something weird like Christian heterosexual), you are "allied". There is also "I" for "intersex" which at one time covered the tiny percentage of people who really do have crossed sexual organs, but now apparently includes people like "Bruce/Caitlyn" Jenner who are modifying themselves ... as opposed I ASSUME to "transvestite" who are dressing only, or "Queer" which is "defined" above  ??? ... I think I'll go with Young Frankenstein on what it actually means.

There are a lot of letters left in the alphabet ... when there is no truth, only relative opinion, then truly none of us can "know" anything relative to the ever changing "culture". There are a lot of letters left in the aphabet and we will probably run out, or have to use each for multiple meanings like we already are for the A and the Q. Your first reaction might be that I'm being facetious here, but remember, Facebook has 51 genders!

The words of Lewis Carroll explain it well:
"‘When I use a word,' Humpty Dumpty said, in rather a scornful tone, ‘it means just what I choose it to mean—neither more nor less.'
‘The question is,' said Alice, ‘whether you can make words mean so many different things."
‘The question is,' said Humpty Dumpty, ‘which is to be master—that's all.'"
Consistency is not an issue, WHO IS MASTER is the issue! So there are more genders than letters in the alphabet, and they are FLUID, but sexual orientation is FIXED ... genetically, and it CAN'T BE CHANGED! Thus saith "the masters".

Wonderland was a very reasonable place compared to whatever the current madhouse we exist in might be called!

Hell?

Clinton's Love Child -- Rubio!

The Half-Hearted Case for Rubio - The Daily Beast:

I'll admit it, I really like Scott Walker, and I HOPED (too much) that he would be the candidate. I also held out some lesser hopes (very faint) that there was some TINY shred of decency and character left in "The Party" (TP-D), and that the combination of a sneering, arrogant, unlikeable, congenital liar, felon, idiot,  combined with what used to be the biggest political sin of being completely unlikeable and a terrible campaigner, would give us an easier TP candidate -- BS is as good a designated initial as one could imagine for a TP candidate!

But no, it is Hildebeast, and it looks like Trump will be hanging around for awhile yet. I still REFUSE to believe that I will have to choose between Trump and just staying home -- which is probably not going to happen, so in that universe that I refuse to visit yet, I will vote for Trump -- BECAUSE, we have SEEN how bad Hildebeast is at merely being Secretary of State! At least we haven't SEEN Trump as president (not that I want to) ... but in a world of picking between a "likely disaster" and a "KNOWN disaster", I have to go "likely". Besides, there were Top Secret e-mails on her private server, which is a FELONY ... and I still believe in laws even if the rest of the country does not.

It is what it is ... which means that LAUGHTER is even MORE critical, so thusly I encourage you to go read PJ and get used to the idea of Rubio. I find the assertion that Rubio was fathered by Bill Clinton to be pretty much a certainty next to "there were no classified documents on my e-mail server" (which we KNOW to be false, and disqualifies her all by itself!) !

So I guess I'm a Rubio guy ... maybe a little more tepid than PJ, but he makes a "good case" ...
Rubio was born in May 1971. Do the math.
In September 1970, where was Bill Clinton?
Maybe in Miami on Yale Law School’s extra-early Spring Break?
You heard it here first. It’s the kind of news that will get Marco the media attention he needs. He’ll be on all the morning talk shows and Ellen and The View talking about overcoming emotional obstacles in his journey to reach closure with his personal issues and accept himself for who he really is.

Hate Crimes Against Muslims

Jews Are Still the Biggest Target of Religious Hate Crimes - News – Forward.com:

We have been admonished a good deal the past week to be VERY careful about what is said about Muslims.  The following graphic gives an interesting view of Hate Crime statistics, at least as gathered by the FBI in the US.

Strangely, at least in 2014, Hate Crimes against JEWS led by a WIDE margin with basically 60%!!

Anyone hear BO chiding the US to be less hatful of Jews? ... No, I didn't either.

Also, if you add "Catholic", "Anti-Protestant" (I wonder if the "Hate Crimes" against Catholics are non "anti"???), plus "Anti-Multiple Religions", you get 14% ... same as anti-Islamic.

I'm not really interested in digging into this a lot, but since there is yet another category for "anti-other", when the whole chart is purported to be Hate Crimes due to "religion", can we surmise that "anti-multiple" is actually throwing the rest of "Christian" into a bucket, or is Christianity ALL "Protestant or Catholic"? Could be, but anyway, there as AT LEAST 10% against Christians, which is pretty darned amazing when you realize that the US was once a "Christian nation"!

(it is gratifying to see the big 1% applied to Atheism as a "religion" ... it is, but a lot of Atheists are unhappy with that).

This is from a pro-Jewish source -- something in itself which "The Party" (D) tends to take with MORE than a grain of salt, as opposed to say from an "Islamic source", which is pretty much treated in TP and the media as gospel -- "racist" or "Islamophobic" to think otherwise!

Jews OTOH ... well, we KNOW about THEM, don't we?  ... as BO's old Pastor Reverend Wright, or Louis Farrakhan  might say, "never trust a Jew!".

When TP and the media are merrily manipulating us, what they DON'T talk about is very often even more important to be aware of than what they do.

Happy Hanukkah!

Can the Left Love ISIS?

Can the Left Learn to Love ISIS? | Frontpage Mag:

An interesting discussion of similarities between the embrace of Communism in the past and the developing comity between the left and ISIS.

Islamic terrorism is excused on the same grounds that Communist terror was excused; as a response to our imperialistic foreign policy, as the outcry of the oppressed and an attempt to secure equality. Some atrocities are dismissed as myths, worries over terrorism are written off as fearmongering and terrorists are transformed into victims who were singled out by paranoid politicians for their political beliefs.

The left is using the same exact playbook on Islamic terrorism as it did on Communism.
America was founded as a Center RIGHT Republic (Left being control, right being chaos)  -- The Left continuously grows the centralized power of government until that power is TOTAL (thus "Totalitarian"). The "faith" of the left is that once complete centralized control is achieved, "utopia" is sure to result. The objective is POWER, the means are completely unimportant, and as has been seen around the world again and again they often include the killing of huge numbers of people, torture, oppression, imprisonment, etc -- ALL methods are permissible (even REQUIRED) in the creation of "heaven on earth".
Obama and Hillary contend that ISIS cannot be defeated militarily. And if it cannot be defeated militarily, the only options are Cold War containment or diplomatic outreach. It’s not too hard to imagine the arguments that will be made for the latter at the expense of the former. They were the same arguments that were made and are still being made by the left for engagement with Communist terror regimes.
ISIS has not done anything that the Soviet Union did not do. Its ideology is thoroughly different, but both were built on swamps of atrocity, mass murder, mass rape, ethnic cleansing and raw butchery. If the left could serve the Soviet Union, who is to say that it won’t learn to love the Islamic State?
How often do we hear today that "Fighting/resisting ISIS is the worst thing we can do! They use it as a recruiting tool!" ... translation, they MUST be accommodated, we have no other choice! The refrain is exactly the same as that heard about the USSR up through the Reagan administration, when any attempts at showing strength were "playing into the hard-liners hands and going to get us all blown up!". "Better Red than Dead!"

Of course when the USSR fell, while the left tried to be as quiet as they good be as they sobbed and cried alligator tears, they attempted to calmly confuse us "oh, we KNEW this was going to happen all along! Reagan and the warmongers just slowed it down" ! (sob, sob, please pass a Kleenex, my cat just died! ....)

How often were Republicans accused of "playing into the hard-liners hands" as BO worked out handing the Bomb to Iran so they could eventually give us the "Missile Finger" with a mushroom tip!

Creating Racists and Hate Crimes

Scalia and the MSM — a mismatch [UPDATED] | Power Line:

TP (The Party-D) needs lots of demons to keep its masses fired up. It is easy to see that they operate this way because the idea of Republicans using "fear" (as in "Homophobia", "Islamophobia", etc) is a daily staple of the MSM news feed and TP party Talking Points.

The linked article covers tarring SCOTUS Justice Scalia as a racist because he discussed "mismatch" -- the situation where you bring an unqualified student into an Ivy League school through affirmative action and they don't do well.  The left DEMANDS that the world operate as they want, so to point out that when students don't have the preparation needed to compete and are shoved into an environment due to a preferential treatment, they often fail.

The core of TP doctrine is established by the average 2-year old -- "The world MUST conform to MY view ... NOW"!!! Full stop, end of story ... "Make it so".

So when little things like reality get in the way, the problem must be IGNORED ... and anyone that points out the nakedness of the Emperor needs to be labeled with a nasty name, in this case RACIST!

Once you are established as a Racist, the next step is to catch you in a "Hate Crime" ... and the definition of that is ALSO conveniently whatever TP deems it to be ... as we see in the recent case of the lawyer being asked if he was a "refugee" at a Vikings game.

TP understands this pattern VERY well, it is THEIR PATTERN ... it has been used before, once specifically from "the right", "McCarthyism" is the horror of a case where for a short time it was almost somewhat effective using the definition of "Communism" and then attempting to criminalize Communists.

TP didn't like their favorite technique being used against them very well, and the term "McCarthyism" is still trotted out when someone asks them a question. Meanwhile,  for TP it is "Standard Operating Procedure" (SOP)  ... Racist!, Sexist!, Homophobe!, Islamophobe! ....

We live in a world where things are precisely what TP says they are ... no more and no less!

Obama Announces New Policy for Seniors!

Choose Your Destructor!

Glenn Reynolds: Liberals have chosen The Donald as their 'Destructor':

For those unfamiliar with the reference ...

It's kind of funny for an old OO programmer ... a Destructor is a method that is automatically called when an object is destroyed ...

In this case, the "Object being destroyed" is what is left of the US ...
And there’s a lesson for our ruling class there: Calling Trump a fascist is a bit much (fascism, as Tom Wolfe once reported, is forever descending upon the United States, but somehow it always lands on Europe), but movements like fascism and communism get their start because the mechanisms of liberal democracy seem weak and ineffectual and dishonest. If you don’t want Trump — or, perhaps, some post-Trump figure who really is a fascist — to dominate things, you need to stop being weak and ineffectual and dishonest.
Having BO stop being "weak and ineffectual and dishonest"  might get Reynolds on the Secret Service list as threatening the president! BO is only going to "give up" being weak, ineffectual and dishonest when he reaches room temperature!

The closing is rather good ... it really all is. Recommended!
Hearing that Yale professor Erika Christakis won't be teaching at Yale because of the abuse she received over a respectful but non-PC email, former DNC chair Howard Dean tweeted: “Free speech is good. Respecting others is better.” To his credit, CNN’s Jake Tapper responded: “Of course only one of them is enshrined in the Constitution.”
But Twitter humorist IowaHawk had the last word: ”With the exception of POTUS, the Atty General, both leading presidential candidates, the media, and universities, Americans love free speech.”
If you wish to hold fascism, or even just Trumpism, at bay, then we need elites who are trustworthy, who can be counted on to protect the country, and who respect the Constitution even when it gets in the way of doing something they want to do. By failing to live up to these standards, they have chosen their "Destructor." Let’s hope that they haven’t chosen ours, as well.

Oh, and this!
