Back When Entertainers Were Funny And Politicians Laughed Together
I'm on too many lists and too many people send me stuff ... I really enjoyed this. I used to think my folks were completely dim when they talked of "the good old days". They may have been ... and that just means I'm just as dim now. In case you are wondering, he DOES juggle as well as do comedy.

The punchline from the linked ... might add MSNBC, those who gave up thinking for drugs.
It is not too hard to translate this into a contemporary American equivalent:
--- The Washington Post is read by people who think they run the country;
--- The New York Times is read by people who think they ought to run the country;
--- The Wall Street Journal is read by people who own the country;
--- CNN is watched by people who think the country should be run by another country;
--- and Fox News is watched by people who think it is

A Little Trump Truth From a Dog
I suspsect that besides risking advertisers and their balls, the other reason that shows like SNL tend to avoid making fun of liberals is that it is too damned easy!
Talk about "Truth to Power"!

Most Republican Part of the Bible
Politico Attacks Rubio, 'Social Darwinist' Book of Proverbs:
Politico took Rubio to task for tweeting verses out of Proverbs because it was allegedly the "most Republican part of the Bible", since it asserts that good character and hard work are more likely to bring riches than wickedness and sloth.
The article is pretty funny, though I suppose not for Democrats -- I have to admit that I'm always impressed with a Democrat that knows a Bible verse beyond Matt 7:1 "Judge not lest ye be judged".
Naturally, they usually use that verse in their judgement of what they see as someone elses judgement, however it IS still actually in the Bible. If they read more of it, I have faith that God would show them the light. Complete verses are good too ... Slick Willie quoted Prov 29:18 in his inauguration, "Where there is no vision, the people perish", but neglected to quote the second part of the verse ... "but he who keeps the law, happy is he". I wonder why?
I find the most Republican verse in the Bible to be Ecclesiastes 10:2 "The heart of the wise inclines to the right, but the heart of the fool to the left."
;-)

Enterprise Meets Judd
OK, I had "heard" about the Ashley Judd rant but had not bothered to listen to the whole thing. I'm still not sure who she is, but I hope she took a cough drop to her speech. That "Nasty woman" must have had a sore throat after wasting all that breath.
It does get a little long of course, but true to form, the Enterprise takes care of her at the end -- PROPERLY!
While listening to the rant, I realized who her voice reminded me of.

How The Russians Did It!
http://www.nationalreview.com/article/443000/russia-election-hack-plan-revealed-hillary-clinton-donald-trump-only-pawns-kremlin
Since BO openly tried to influence the Brexit vote, the election in Israel, and no doubt a few others that I'm forgetting, I'm surprised he is not pleased to see that BOistan has achieved "not exceptional" -- we are just one more nation whose elections other nations work to influence!
Note, that just because they might have thought that Trump would be easier to influence than Hillary, (who they had already bought and paid for in at least one urainium deal), doesn't mean they are right.
Hillary WANTED to run against Trump -- and look at how well that worked out for her!
We know that Russia is a technologically superior nation since we hitch rides with them to the Space Station so we can pretend like we are still an advanced nation. This article lays out exactly how they managed to elect Trump president. I think the following was their most brilliant move!
The men from Moscow hacked into Clinton’s teleprompter last September 9. In a fundraising speech that she delivered to donors at Cipriani restaurant, literally on Wall Street, her original reference to half of Trump’s supporters as “hard-working Americans thirsty for economic growth and tired of being lectured to by condescending, out-of-touch elites in Washington” disappeared. Instead, Clinton was amazed to find herself calling them a “basket of deplorables.” She was as stunned as anyone to find her lips forming the words “racist, sexist, homophobic, xenophobic, Islamophobic — you name it.”This one is also brilliant ... the whole article is worth reading.
"Stronger Together" what a lame name for a plane. Why not "Herself"... or just "I'm a woman, Affirmative Action says you HAVE to elect me!"
The Russians drilled into the navigation system of Stronger Together, Clinton’s campaign plane, and erased Wisconsin from its map of the USA. This prevented her from landing and stumping even once in that entire state during the fall election campaign.

Trump Will Never Be President
I'm not as certain he will be as these folks were that he would not be -- he isn't inaugurated yet.
It is really worth watching. How are people EVER as sure of something as these people all are? Or are they really not that sure, but just lie so much that "staking their reputation" (what reputation?) on something doesn't really matter that much.
I like BO ... "The worst president in history" with his snarky "Well, at least I WAS president"! People that haven't learned to not believe ANYTHING that dufus says long before now are just not in the learning camp!

Stealing Wheelbarrows, Funds -- For Clintons
Hillary Clinton's E-mails Reveal Special Favors & Meetings for Clinton Foundation Donors | National Review:
Does ANYONE think that people are going to hand millions and tens of millions of dollars to the Clintons "just because they are nice people"? Their "Foundation" is set up to be purposely vague --- as one of the charity rating groups said "The Clinton Foundation has multiple legal entities, and then also multiple disparate programs, which makes it impossible for us to rate in the actual format that we do ratings today," NOBODY would go out out and decide to donate to the Clinton Foundation because it was "a great charity"!
But even when they DO get "good ratings", these are people who can have sex with employees at work and treat top secret documents with "extreme carelessness" and get off. Anything can be bought in a corrupt society -- and the Clintons are proof of that! Their "foundation" is proof that the corruption is so great they don't even have to pretend to hide it!
I'm reminded of a Seinfeld where George has a fake charity, "The Human Fund -- Money, for people".
Why not just call it "The Clinton Fund" -- Funds, for Clintons? Everyone certainly knows this to be the case, but at the level of corruption the US is at, apparently close to half the people simply don't care. They assume that Hildebeast will punish the "other tribe" (Republicans, the productive, Christians, etc) and reward their tribe, and in a corrupt tribal culture like BOistan, the only "value" is "just win baby". Take from the other tribe, look out for #1.
I can't believe that anyone with an IQ over 100 actually in any way "believes" the Clintons at this point. How much howling have we heard about "Citizens United" and the evils of money in politics from the left, and now their candidate is the doyen of the "Clinton Fund"? "All that is necessary for evil to triumph is for good men to do nothing". In BOistan, the good have to avert their eyes from the level of insane corruption that is in operation in plain view. Evil has completely triumphed.
OF COURSE they are selling influence!!! -- and anything else they can sell including the scraps left of America, and no doubt future claims on our children and grandchildren.
BO was a tragedy, Hildebeast is a farce.

For years a factory worker pushes a wheelbarrow full of straw past a security guard on his way out. Suspicious that the guy is stealing something, the guard looks in the straw but can’t find anything. Finally, when the worker is retiring, the guard asks, “I know you’ve been stealing something — can you tell me what it is? The guy smiles and says, “Wheelbarrows.”The joke is actually misleading, the Clinton Foundation is WAY more obvious than the guy stealing wheelbarrows -- at least the idea there MIGHT be something in the wheelbarrow is some indirection. With the Clinton Foundation there is none -- it is totally in the open!

Living "As If", Socrates, Plato, Sinatra, Shirley
http://www.nationalreview.com/article/435638/transgender-identity-biology-gender-social-construct-anatomy-binary
The article is on transgender and the basic conclusion is that there are tremendous conflicts about what the whole political transgender movement is, or even wants to be. That isn't what this post is about, the following paragraph struck me:
Animals are driven by instinct to perform instinctual behaviors. Man is blessed and cursed with consciousness, reason and will, which allows us to CHOOSE what emotions, impulses, stimulus, etc we will seek and how we will react to what happens in our lives. For animals, doing and being are always one.
The base of this question is one of the oldest of religion and philosophy, What is man? What does it mean to be human? The old joke that Socrates said "To be is to do", Plato said, "To do is to be", but Sinatra is the greatest philosopher, "To, be, do be, do!"
Grace or commitment? Are you saved by Grace, or are you saved by "giving your life to God"?
I'm not attempting to answer these questions today -- nor at the moment am I even searching my blog and linking to some of my and others opinions on them. What I AM doing is pointing out that simply stating that "Surely the very concept of identity is what one is, not what one pretends or wishes to be" is no reason to call someone Shirley! (and YES, I understand that "fixed gender" is the conservative position and variable gender is the liberal position ... this is about thought, not gender other than a jumping off point).
"We are what we are" vs "You can be whatever you want to be"! To a large extent, that is the greatest personal question and drives pretty much all political thought. Any person of thought knows that there are elements of both in all our lives. As a Christian, we are what God created us to be (male or female being part of that), and if we submit to his will, we will perfectly fit with and DO what is his will is for our lives, and therefore be temporally and eternally divinely fulfilled.
To be "liberal" means that there is no created order and personal choices about "being and doing" are completely open to individual and state interpretations defined by power. Might is right, because there is no higher authority. There is no fixed reality, and "we" are only temporary physical creatures, nothing else.
To be "conservative" means that the universe is ordered and intelligible. Man and everything else is here for a transcendent reason. The problem of life and culture is accepting (through revelation), or searching for that reason and then conforming our "lower selves" (the animal part) to that purpose. Each person is eternally "more than this world", and we live by transcendent values above the physical and animal world.
"Being fruitful and multiplying" is a core purpose in religion, as well as in a naturalistic / deistic evolutionary view. I find it is no accident that abortion, gay issues and transgender are at the forefront of the "culture wars". Although our current overlords try to prevent even the most cursory of thought beyond the mere nominalist, the "there, there", the spiritual, keeps showing through.
Without the perspective of the eternal, even laughter becomes difficult. Without light there is no dark, and without the serious and ultimate, there is no true humor.
The very least the liberals could do is to stop calling us Shirley!
The article is on transgender and the basic conclusion is that there are tremendous conflicts about what the whole political transgender movement is, or even wants to be. That isn't what this post is about, the following paragraph struck me:
Maybe, however, this transgender person means that he wishes to live as if he were a woman, rather than to be a woman. Nonetheless, living as if one is a woman is not the same as being a woman, which is what gender identity is taken to mean. Living “as if” one is a woman appears to conflict with the idea that one’s gender is determined by one’s deepest self-perception. Surely the very concept of identity is what one is, not what one pretends or wishes to be.The core of religions, cultures, gangs, cults, groups, marriages, etc is simply "living as if" much of the time at least. If we take that paragraph as gospel, we are doomed to forever be completely disconnected "identities", fated to be alone.
Animals are driven by instinct to perform instinctual behaviors. Man is blessed and cursed with consciousness, reason and will, which allows us to CHOOSE what emotions, impulses, stimulus, etc we will seek and how we will react to what happens in our lives. Kitty Lock Fever
This is "Cabbage", a poor kitty who had to be re-adopted from our son when his life situation changed. We call him "Cab" for short, but I typically call him "The Ferocious Cabadocious" because he still retains a tendency to suddenly bite or claw out of the blue while you are petting him. He has a complex personality, he can also be a real lover.
He has also become the "traveling kitty". He likes to sit on my knee right next to the drivers window as we are going to IA and back to watch the other vehicles -- he gets excited when we pass someone and gets unhappy when we are passed, although that behavior has settled down as he has gotten more used to road travel.
He tagged along last Friday - Saturday as we headed to IA and back to enjoy the cold and rainy weather with a view of the lake. About 10 min into the trip back on Saturday PM, the one side of the tailgate on our trailer popped off and drug in the pavement, so we had to pull over. A pin had come out, so we took care of that and went back to get going and .... the Avalanche was locked!
See, Cab likes to press the buttons on the armrest on the drivers side, when I'm driving I have to watch if he gets over there and cover up the buttons, or a window will soon go down at 75mph on I-90. The vehicle was running in park, Marla's purse was inside, and we were sunk. We coaxed him up to the drivers armrest position, but after about 10 min or trying to randomly get him to move around by waving at him and tapping on the window to press the lock button again, we were calling a locksmith.
I'm sure we looked like idiots as well, but Kitty Lock Fever tends to cause that.
Suddenly, while Marla was looking for a locksmith, I noticed him heading toward the back seat passenger side and realized that he had opened that window! I got around to intercept him and Marla was able to crawl in with some help and save the day -- not all that dignified, but saved!
Thus ends the story of Kitty Lock Fever -- a story which will no doubt make Cab immortal in Kitty fame at our place for years to come!

Michelle Obama's Derriere
Michelle Obama's Derriere : snopes.com:
This meme has popped up enough on the web that I went to check Snopes. The picture is photoshopped, but the women are who they are labeled. Left to Right, Princess Letizia of Spain, French first lady Carla Bruni, and Mooch Obama.
The press enjoyed making fun of Ben Carson's wife's appearance. They naturally didn't enjoy Trump doing a comparison between his wife and Cruz's. So it goes.
The US sheep generally need to be fed a steady diet of propaganda that paints Europeans as "sophisticated, intelligent, discerning, etc" and at least most of the US, certainly the Red State swine, as well, swine.
Strangely, one of the "sophisticated, intelligent, discerning" things those wonderful Europeans do is "compare wives physical features".
We can be thankful at least that there is no chance of a "Pippa Incident" breaking the internet when Mooch walks down the street! It is also gratifying to know she is probably able to save valuable personal time by not lecturing the first ladies of Spain or France on their diet or exercise regime! (American school children are not so lucky!).
Is it "tacky" to compare how wives look? Sure, but it certainly is done -- apparently more in Europe, but plenty here as well. Is it "tacky" to make fun of NJ Gov Chris Christie's weight in a country where men and women are asserted to be equal? "Standards" are a very funny thing in a nation where there are no standards ... Outside of what THE PARTY DEMANDS of course, Heil BO and goose-step to the lavatory you feel most comfortable in today!
I'm actually glad that the press ISN'T making a bunch of sport of Mooch vs the "Ferrari's". It is hard to imagine if there was an R first lady who forced little kids to have sawdust and gruel for lunch to "keep their weight down" that there MIGHT not be a couple teensy weeny and RARE (oh so rare!) jokes don't you think?
Nah, we have an unbiased press and Europeans are just so mature and sophisticated.

Comparing the physical attractiveness and fashion style of the spouses of national leaders is common fodder for gossip magazines and newspaper columns, particularly in Europe.I think we all knew that. The French didn't love Jackie Kennedy because of her great mind. Interestingly, one of the former lovers of Carla Bruni is supposed to be Donald Trump -- along with Mick Jagger, Eric Clapton and many others. Let's face it, once "virtue" is out, it is OUT!

Climate Change Summary
The "Experts" mantra -- "Never in doubt, frequently wrong".
I'd put some of the headings differently -- 2005, Katrina was the PEAK year for "we can expect an ever increasing number of larger hurricanes" ... after which we have had basically NONE. Even large storms like Sandy had to be "uprated to hurricanes", and PREDICTIONS had to be more and more dire as in last falls "strongest hurricane EVER!"

Air Force One Returns From Cuba
I was glad to see that at least some good came from the Dictator Summit in Havana. As you can see from the picture, not all the refugees mistakenly trying to trade dictators made it, but with the present state of the world, falling from a 747 to your death is at least quick!
Viva BO, viva Castro!
This was featured in the Onion -- one of the few factual media outlets still in operation!

33% BS Voters Won't Vote For Hildebeast
33 Percent of Bernie Sanders Supporters Will Not Vote for Hillary Clinton. Here's Why:
This is Huffpo and I don't put a lot of stock in it, but it certainly is out there.
Some thoughts:
To wit ... "The problem with Hillary supporters is that they have no concept of hypocrisy." So apparently people detached from reality enough to vote BS still think they know what hypocrisy is? Well, once the surly bonds have been slipped --- "whatever"!!!
This is Huffpo and I don't put a lot of stock in it, but it certainly is out there.
Some thoughts:
- Democrats think that raising taxes on cigarettes cuts cigarette consumption, but don't believe that raising taxes on business cuts business activity in the US. So why would I believe anything a Democrat tells me about anything, let alone percentages?
- On top of that, these are Crazy Bernie voters -- hello?
- I accept that my sanity is in question for reading this, HOWEVER, I believe that reasonable people owe it to ourselves to read how genuine moonbats actually think!

Oh, you don't think the person writing this is INSANE! This was written TODAY, 3/16, AFTER Hillary won FL and OH!
That being said, Bernie Sanders is still the front-runner. Clinton could get FBI and Justice Department indictments at any moment, and future primaries are favorable to Sanders. This is far from over. It's a feast of the imaginary, the unhinged and the delusional. Seriously worth reading just to realize that we not only have people walking around that think like this, but we have major news outlets that give them a forum!
I'm actually pretty surprised that even 50% of BS followers find their tail-mix often enough to keep body and soul together.

DC, A More Wretched Hive Of Scum and Villainy
http://m.townhall.com/tipsheet/cortneyobrien/2016/03/12/dcs-6-percent-of-gop-voters-will-get-chance-to-have-large-influence-in-campaign-n2131807
Unsurprisingly, that 6% went overwhelmingly for Rubio followed by Kasich, with Cruz dead last!
"Those that have eyes, let them see".
For the reality based, there are some very easy factual conclusions here.
Only 27,000 of Washington, D.C. voters are registered Republicans - a total of 6 percent. So 6% Petty Criminals, 94% Hardened Felons. (JOKE ... the 6% are likely a few local businessmen, military, and Christian Clergy. All the actual government workers are Hardened Felons or they would be "swimming with the fishes" by now!

- For people that work in government, there is a VERY big difference between D and R! Democrats are 100% for more, more and STILL MORE larger government. Even the local businessmen and military don't want the gravy train really upset!
- For the TINY number of R's in DC, they hate Cruz most of all -- with Trump being hated 2nd worst, which is why I'm a Cruz guy, but am definitely Trump 2nd!
- DC is a HELL HOLE of corruption that makes Mos Eisley look a Bible Camp!

Trump Derangement Syndrome, Ghostbusters Election
For Trump Supporters, a Reckoning Is at Hand - Jonah Goldberg - Page 1:
I have a ton of respect for Jonah Goldberg, but it has become apparent that he has fallen to "Trump Derangement Syndrome" (TDS), a recent variant of "Bush Derangement Syndrome". He definitely needs some "Whale Time" (see Bible) to reflect on deeper issues and a broader perspective.
What **IS** unique about this juncture is that TDS affects both sides of the political spectrum, so we are "crossing the streams". If you read this blog, you know that I am WELL aware of the tragedy of BO, but in my disgust, I have forgotten that history repeats itself "First as tragedy, then as farce"! I have realized that we are in the "Ghostbusters Election"!
I'm a member of the closed group "Fans of Best of the Web", and what is going on out there is THIS!
In all seriousness, can't conservatives get SOME sense of perspective??? My God, we lived through Slick Willie staining dresses and ejaculating all over the Oval Office! The Democrats have killed 60 million babies in their mothers wombs, Facebook has 58 genders (they had 57, but they got Heinz 57 jokes so they added one), people are cheering over 7 year old girls changing to boys. Sodom and Gomorrah were moral Amish Villages compared to America today, and people are worried about he "Republican Brand"?
Have we forgotten that we face Hildebeast? The Abomination of Desolation!
I really don't even find the KKK flap to be worthy of comment. Consider this. How likely is it that some reporter is going to talk to Hillary about the BLM protesters screaming "Pigs in blankets, fry them like bacon" and see if she wants to "repudiate them"? The fact that the MSM treats R's like that and the fact that not only OUR supposedly conservative commentators that know better fall for it (like NR), is exactly why Trump is popular. People are so sick of the hypocrisy that they just want tough nasty in your face talk like BO and the entire left has been treating us "Bitter Clingers" to for 7 years and much longer.
They want to call us "racist" for saying "All" or "Blue" lives matter? Can any human NOT feel the "F you!" rise up in their craw when that happens? I **AM** PROUD to be a White American! I'm even proud to be a MALE -- and not "Cisgendered". TP and now apparently NR demand that half the country hang their heads and grovel. If that works, as it looks it will, we are even more "done" than I thought we were.
BO and "The Party (TP-D)" have been calling us out for a LONG time here. It has obviously made Mittens Romney and others "uncomfortable".
Take the "Rock Ribbed" pragmatic tough fight out of Republican and you REALLY have no "brand" at all remaining! Let THIS be the battle cry of 2016!
We came, we saw, we kicked their asses!

Better the GOP do battle with a know-nothing bigot (and lose the presidency) than become the party of know-nothing bigots (and still lose the presidency).
That's why I embrace the Twitter hashtag #NeverTrump, initiated by conservative talk show host Erick Erickson. For too long, Trump has benefited from the assumption that the non-Trump faction of the party will be "reasonable" and support the nominee. Such thinking paves the road to power for demagogues."We have met the enemy and he is us". Being conservative is to have a STRONG willingness to face reality. Did the "establishment" of the Republican Party really think that we were going to live in the "post stain cesspool" that is America and not "get any on us"? As I've said before, what part of "NO RULES" is it that purist Republicans are missing? Sure, Trump may WELL be the "form of our destructor" (this IS the Ghostbusters election after all).
