I didn't realize that Melania Trump wanted to be qualified to be VP, but apparently it is so. The surrealism of a MSM gone berserk trying to decide if standard phrases used by politicians in speeches forever "work hard, look them in the eye, your word is your bond, do what you say ...." ... "Mom, apple pie and Chevrolet" counts as "plagiarism".
If so, we may never need to listen to another political speech again -- which, considering that we live in a Fascist state, "What difference, at this point, does it make?". Without tied old boilerplate phrases, politics would be the "sounds of silence".

So according to Democrats an the media, Melania is now qualified to be VP! That was certainly nice of them!
Oops ... looks like Mooch "stole" it too -- if you REALLY want to count using "standard political boilerplate" as "plagiarism" at least.
We know what "The Party" and the media wants for an answer -- "plagiarism for me, not for thee" ... and they often do get the sheep to buy into that. Do people REALLY care about this???

Snopes debunks the Alinsky claim. No, this is not a major issue, but it is interesting that Melania's "speech," if you can call it that, is nearly verbatim....
ReplyDeleteI can't say I care much about this issue. Deciding the bounds between "similar" and same is in the eye of the beholder I guess -- political boilerplate looks like political boilerplate to me.
ReplyDeleteBiden certainly seemed to pass the "stolen" test, and BO did as well with DeVal Patrick. On topics like this, Snopes is just more political commentary -- I love them on sharks in the Mississippi, alien messages, etc.

But seriously. Potential First Lady speeches as an issue? There definitely is a clear reason that Trump and Hildebeast are the candidates in the first BOistan election!
