Pirsig Passes

Uneasy Rider Won Acclaim for ‘Zen’ Novel but Yearned for Respect From Philosophers - WSJ:

"Mr. Pirsig died April 24 at his home in South Berwick, Maine. He was 88."

A freshman college writing course included reading and discussing "Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintainence".  I found it to be an interesting book -- bit of shallow philosophy on "quality" and some good tales of riding motorcycle -- Harley vs BMW.

I also read his book "Lilah" ... it wasn't as good as Zen, but it wasn't terrible.

Anyway, he is gone ... and I note his passing. 88 is certainly not a bad age to live to.
