My hat is off to Michael Moore for the honesty he displays in this column. For understanding the way that the mind of "The Party" (TP-D) and it's acolytes "think" or more accurately "believe", this is an excellent glimpse.
The first insight comes early:
We want to - we need to - hope for the best because, frankly, life is already a shit show and it’s hard enough struggling to get by from paycheck to paycheck. We can’t handle much more bad news. So our mental state goes to default when something scary is actually, truly happening.Seek life is not a "gift", or to be "cherished" -- it is a "shit show". We wrongly want to "hope", but hope is BAD when it is an INDIVIDUAL hope. The next paragraph is a wonderful insight into the liberal religion.
Don’t get me wrong. I have great hope for the country I live in. Things are better. The left has won the cultural wars. Gays and lesbians can get married. A majority of Americans now take the liberal position on just about every polling question posed to them: Equal pay for women - check. Abortion should be legal - check. Stronger environmental laws - check. More gun control - check. Legalize marijuana - check. A huge shift has taken place - just ask the socialist who won 22 states this year. And there is no doubt in my mind that if people could vote from their couch at home on their X-box or PlayStation, Hillary would win in a landslide. He assumes he is speaking to his own tribe here and he is honest. He doesn't mention "America", because the old ideas of "America" are an embarrassment to him. He FREELY admits that "the left has WON!" ... if voting was no effort whatsoever ... "automatic", TP would be locked into power forever! Nirvana! But see, voting in the US, with "mail in ballots", automatic registration, no ID requirements, etc is still TOO HARD for the constituency that the left panders to!
He assumes that Trump will take Wisconsin, Michigan, Indiana, Ohio and Pennsylvania BECAUSE
From Green Bay to Pittsburgh, this, my friends, is the middle of England - broken, depressed, struggling, the smokestacks strewn across the countryside with the carcass of what we use to call the Middle Class. Angry, embittered working (and nonworking) people who were lied to by the trickle-down of Reagan and abandoned by Democrats who still try to talk a good line but are really just looking forward to rub one out with a lobbyist from Goldman Sachs who’ll write them nice big check before leaving the room. What happened in the UK with Brexit is going to happen here.Reagan assumed that Americans would COMPETE AND WIN -- not stream back to Democrats in hopes of a handout only to find that the handouts were bitter pills to swallow next to jobs with futures. The point is that Moore knows that TP screwed those states over, and his OK with that unless it allows Trump to win!
That’s a small peek into the mind of the Endangered White Male. There is a sense that the power has slipped out of their hands, that their way of doing things is no longer how things are done.Michael Moore is a rather hefty multimillionaire white male, but he identifies as "a wonderful person". Much like Hildebeast lamenting income inequality in a $12K potato sack, irony isn't something that the left brain registers. The people that don't want to be ruled by Hildebeast and Michael are ungrateful rubes -- even though he just admitted that they sold them out and left them to rot. Consistency, caring, and least of all reason, are not welcome in the lefty brain.
Can we speak honestly, just among ourselves? And before we do, let me state, I actually like Hillary - a lot - and I think she has been given a bad rap she doesn’t deserve. But her vote for the Iraq War made me promise her that I would never vote for her again. To date, I haven’t broken that promise. For the sake of preventing a proto-fascist from becoming our commander-in-chief, I’m breaking that promise.Truth, honesty? Ted Cruz broke a promise to support the nominee at the convention and certainly to me, HE IS DONE. I suspect he is DONE with 80%+ of people that describe themselves as conservative. What is a "promise" from a liberal worth? NOTHING. Got that? NOTHING!!! Know enough liberals and you will see it over and over. "They meant well, they had to follow their heart, they learned hard lessons from life, they are smarter now, etc, etc". As a CHRISTIAN conservative, I must forgive liberals "70x7" (infinite) times and love them. That isn't ALL that hard -- we won't go into the favorite moose sins that get confessed over and over and ... well you get the picture, at communion. The difference is that liberals believe that divorcing the one you swore to stay with forever because "you had to follow your heart" (or your penis) is a VIRTUE!
So Moore laments that Hillary has changed positions a lot (like he just did), and how it is hard to get the base fired up for an old lady that lies even when she doesn't have to, enables a serial woman abuser and sucks hundreds of millions from everyone from Wall Street to terrorist foreign governments (Saudi Arabia) to support a lavish lifestyle and an extremely poor taste in clothes. But hey, that is just the way it is -- liberals are "like that", and dammit, their folks ought to come out and support them!
He closes it out with thoughts that young Bernie voters will be depressed -- they won't vote Trump, but they won't be busy dragging out the vote and they may stay home.
His other point he calls the "Ventura effect" -- which I agree with him a bit on. I think given the times, there IS the idea that "if W or BO could be president, ANYONE could be". We tried both of them and people said they were going to be awful, but we lived! It's a lot like driving fast, drinking too much, etc -- W was actually a rather experienced guy -- businessman and governor of a major state, but the media convinced everyone he was dumber than a box of rocks and totally incapable of governing, yet he was re-elected and life went on. BO had no experience in anything remotely resembling president, but we are still here -- true, America is dead and we live in BOistan, but most of the country lost complete track of what "America" even was, so as long as TV, sports, the internet and a few other distractions are there, they really don't care.
It is hard for me to imagine anyone not being so sick of Hildebeast that they would vote against her just to be certain that they don't need to see much of her and lecherous Slick anymore. Moore seems to sense that though -- and Trump is a hell of a "protest vote". This is the effect I suspect is going to make it a landslide for Trump -- he is WAY more personally appealing than Hildebeast. My guess is that she will refuse to debate him, but that is going to be REAL hard for the media to spin as anything but a loss -- and if she does debate him, I think it is over for sure.
Anyway, it is worth a read. Moore is the kind of smug elite that will be REALLY pissed if Trump is elected -- which is a darned good reason to support Trump right there!
I did send in my $75 to him -- so I'm an official "Trumpkin". I'm not "fired up" yet, but I suspect I will be by the time October rolls around.
